On February 15, 2023, the Office of the Superintendent of Schools in the Archdiocese of New York announced that St. Gabriel School will merge with St. Margaret of Cortona School at the end of the 2022-23 academic year. The newly-created school will be called St. Margaret of Cortona-St. Gabriel School and be located at 452 W 260th St., Bronx, NY 10471.
