In Math, we are working on dividing fractions. If your child struggles with the multiplication tables, I encourage them to practice this nightly. I put a practice game on Google Classroom that will help empower them and make them feel more confident in order to successfully divide fractions. You can even print out a certificate after they complete this practice exercise.

We are currently reading The One and Only Ivan which focuses on the theme of friendship. After reading the book we will compare and contrast the movie with the book. Which do you think the students will like better?

Dear Fifth Grade Parents and Students,
I am very excited to be your child´s teacher. We are going to learn so many new and exciting things together. I believe we are a team and it is imperative that we all work together. All homework will be posted at the end of the day on Google Classroom.
To make the transition easier, I will use the same Google Classroom codes as Mr. S. I will be using Classdojo to communicate with the families. Please email me your email at mness@saintgabrielschoolbronx.org in the subject line please write your childś name. You will receive an invitation to join Classdojo. This is a quick and easy way to share important reminders and information. I love taking pictures of the students and this is a quick way for me to share them with everyone. I know we do not have a class parent yet, but if any parent would like to donate tissues or wipes it would be greatly appreciated.
Tomorrow we will be discussing our class rules. I am asking for your help to reinforce that toys are not allowed in class. That includes stuffed animals, balls, or other objects that can impact the student focusing. These objects must be kept in the studentś bookbag.
As a reminder, if your child is going to be out please contact Mrs. Daly at
718-548-0444.
