Saint Gabriel School was established by the Archdiocese of New York  and the Sisters of Charity in 1941 to service the children of the Riverdale Community.Today children from all communities are welcome.  As a Catholic school, Saint Gabriel provides its students with a full religious knowledge of the Roman Catholic faith and practices. Students are also prepared for the reception of the sacraments of the Roman Catholic faith, As a Catholic institution we believe in the dignity, respect, and well-being of each and every human being, and children of all faiths are welcome to join our Saint Gabriel family.
  

Saint Gabriel School is fully accredited by the New York State Department of Education and Advance Ed. SGS provides a full rigorous program of academic subjects through Blended Learning and  Differentiated instruction for students in 3K, Pre K For All, and Kindergarten through Grade 8. SMART Board™ technology is integrated into our UPK and Kindergarten through Grade 8 classrooms. Saint Gabriel School boasts a modern Science/Math Lab and a fully stocked  library.  Our children also receive Physical Education, Foreign Language, Art, and Music development and instruction. Additional support services such as Special Education Teacher Support Services ( SETTS), Speech,services, and Occupational Therapy are available for students who may be in need of these services.
