Admission to Saint Gabriel School begins with an application for registration and payment of a non-refundable application fee. The application is to be accompanied by birth and baptismal certificates, immunization history, most-recent report card, standardized test results, IEP or 504 Accommodation Plan (if applicable) and parish support statement (if applying for in-parish tuition rate). The following factors are considered during the selection of applicants for acceptance:

  • Interview with parent(s) and student
  • School-administered screening test (for students entering Kindergarten and Grade 1) or placement tests in Reading, Mathematics, and Writing (for students entering Grades 2-8)
  • Previous academic and disciplinary record
  • Previous standardized test scores
  • Positive recommendation from previous school

Saint Gabriel School gives preference in admission

  • first, to siblings of currently enrolled students
  • second, to Catholic students whose parents are active members of the parish
  • third, to Catholic students whose parents are active in another Catholic parish
  • fourth, to non-Catholic students

Following a complete evaluation of all academic materials, the parents will be notified in writing about the status of admission for their child.



April 7th - First Friday: Full Day of School

April 12th - Easter Vacation begins at 11:30 for Universal Pre Kindergarten  and 12 Noon for Kindergarten through Grade 8

April 13th - April 23rd - Easter Vacation/ Spring Break

April 13th - Holy Thursday

April 14th - Good Friday

April 16th - Happy Easter

April 24th - School Resumes/ Report Card Distribution ( K-8).

May 1st - Summer Uniforms may be worn

May 2-4th - New York State Mathematics Assessment
