Pre-K is an exciting and fun time for your child. Bear in mind that everything and one will be new but as the children get adjusted. I can assure you, we at Saint Gabriel’s school will make the process a positive one for you and your child. The children will be encouraged to participate in numerous activities that will enable them to develop, grow and learn cognitively, socially, and emotionally.

As we begin a brand-new school year, my plan is that we join and work as a team for the betterment of our children.

                                 Theme for the Month-Unit 2: The Five Senses
                                            How do we use our sense of sight?

                                            Family Engagement Activities
Have a conversation with your child about the five senses. Explain the importance of sight and ways we use our sense of sight to explore and navigate the world around us. Ask your child questions such as what are some things they see when they are looking out the window from a car/store or walking on their way to/from school? Allow your child time to think and respond in complete sentences which will promote their critical thinking skills.

Updates
-Please send in 2 sets of change of clothes. Such as shirts, socks, underwear, footwear and pants. (Pants must be easy to pull on/off)  
-Crib sheet and blankets for mat
Please label everything you send in with your child
-Sheets will be sent home on fridays, please wash and return them clean on Monday
-Please check your child’s folder daily to make sure you’re not missing out on important information
-snacks
-List of allergies

PLEASE DO NOT SEND/ALLOW:
-candies in with your child to school
-monies in with your child to school
-electronics in with your child to school
-your child to wear dangle earrings to school
-your child to wear sandals or open-toed shoes(Sneakers are preferred)
-allow your child to wear overall/belts-these are difficult to take off and can cause accidents
