A Community of Faith, Knowledge, and Service

Saint Gabriel School is a Catholic elementary school serving children from three years of age through eighth grade since, 1941.

During this year of challenges, loss, and uncertainty, we remained Saint Gabriel Strong due to the unyielding dedication and efforts of our phenomenal instructional and support staff.  Our students continued to receive top quality academic instruction whether they attended school in person or participated remotely.
I am also happy to announce that Saint Gabriel School is planning for a full return of all our students to five full days of in person instruction.this coming September of 2021.

For eighty years, Saint Gabriel School has been providing a creative and rigorous academic education in a faith-filled environment fostered by our central belief that all people are created in God’s image and likeness. We encourage our students to be the best they can be and follow the teachings of our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ as we foster, nurture, and respect the dignity of each and every human being.

Although we are a Catholic School under the auspices of the Archdiocese of New York and the North West/ South Bronx Catholic School Region, we welcome children of all faiths.

Our Community shares a common bond; and that is our belief in Catholic education and the impact it makes on the academic, social, and most importantly, the spiritual development as children of God. That is why children at Saint Gabriel School are encouraged to be of service to their community. Through food pantry and clothing donations along with visits to local nursing home homes, our students come to understand that we are called by God to be of service to our fellow human beings. That is why our seventh and eighth-grade students serve as mentors to the children in Kindergarten and First Grade. As part of our Faith Formation Program, children are taught the Catholic Faith. Many of the students serve as altar servers or junior lecterns at parish and school masses.

Technology is constantly advancing, and we, at Saint Gabriel School are advancing as well. Our technology initiatives include Discovery Education  Achieve 3000, Moby Max, Ready Generation, Pearson Learning, Mathletics E Spark, and Google Classrooms. Each Student from grades 1 through 8 are given their own Chromebooks, so they may benefit from these initiatives.

Here at Saint Gabriel School, there are many opportunities for our students to participate in the academic, social, and spiritual life of our school and parish. Students can be involved in Journalism, Yearbook, Basketball, Chess, GirlScouts, Mock Trial and Altar Services.
