Grade 5 has just wrapped up their decimal adding and subtracting unit, and is moving on to multiplication.
In ELA we are completing our compare and contrast writing process.
In Religion, we have completed Baptism, and have moved on to the Sacrament of Confirmation.
We continue along with our Science and Social Studies newsletters.
We have completed the MAP test.

Welcome to the fifth grade! I hope you and your children had a wonderful, safe, and enjoyable summer.
Wednesday, September 8th is the first day of school. It is a half day.
I look forward to meeting all of you and to a successful and productive year working with you and your children!

Greetings Grade 5 parents! I look forward to meeting all of you in September. Until then, here is out supply list and brief summer reading assignment:
6 Notebooks (non-spiral)
Black or Blue pens (non-clickable)
Two packs loose leaf paper
2 folders
Summer Reading: Esperanza Rising by Pam Munoz Ryan
Assignments: Compose a one paragraph reflection on the nature of perseverance as it is depicted in the novel.
Students in 5th Grade must complete five Achieve 3000 reading articles a week. Achieve 3000 helps improve reading skills and helps prepare the students for the New York State English Language Arts Assessment. The students were given their login information and passwords. They will receive a weekly Achieve 3000 grade, so that they may access their progress with reading comprehension and fluency.
